Bring a dog or a pet to an appointment.

Here are our guidelines for pets and service animals:

  1. Personal Pet Visitation:

    • Your pet (a dog or cat only) may have scheduled visits while you are in the hospital if:
      • The pet is up to date on immunizations.
      • The pet is clean (bathed within 24 hours before the visit).
      • The pet is healthy and well-behaved.
    • Pets are not permitted in areas where invasive procedures are performed, storerooms, food preparation areas, or rooms of critically ill patients or those in isolation precautions.
    • Scheduling: Communicate with your nurse to schedule a time for your pet to visit.
    • Leash or Crate: All pets visiting need to be on a leash or in a crate.
    • Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands after contact with your pet.
  2. Service Animals:

    • Service animals are allowed in the hospital.
    • They must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless it interferes with their work or the individual’s disability prevents it.
